I’ve been playing around with the graphics of the site, so take a look around. I’ve also reorganized the links on my bio and links pages.
Now I’m going to take a much-needed shower.

The experimental drug thing didn’t happen, so the recent pattern of being let down didn’t let me down; thus I wasn’t actually let down, which means things are working out!
08/28/2002:
Because I don’t have an AISD ID badge, I may not substitute teach, and AISD isn’t making any more ID badges until September 6, so I’ve got almost two more weeks of being unemployed. I’m seriously considering being a test subject for an experimental drug, but if that goes like everything else has lately, then it won’t work out. This has got me down, but Bukowski did lift me up quite a bit, so I’ll make it through.

My job hasn’t worked out like I’d hoped. I don’t want to go into any detail, ‘cause it’s too upsetting. Pretty much everything that could go wrong has. I’m pretty depressed about it. I’m broke and aimless. I’ve just been hanging around the house reading books and watching public access, plus renting movies on two for one Tuesdays at Vulcan (one of my major vices). Maybe reading some Charles Bukowski will cheer me up.
08/22/2002:
I’ve been pretty lazy this week. School started on Monday, but there haven’t been any jobs all week, but it’s just as well, because I don’t have my ID badge, yet, which means I couldn’t accept a job, anyway. I’ve been told that I can get one made tomorrow, but I’ll believe it when I see it. Other than not working, all I’ve done is read, watch movie and TV and workout. Pretty tame stuff.
08/14/2002:
I finally finished The Return of the King. I actually finished the story two days ago, but it took me until this morning to get through appendix A-F. Tolkien is one longwinded mother!

I actually had a fun time using the chainsaw today. I was intimidated at first, but Pete gave me good instructions on using it, and after a few minutes I got the hang of it. I cut up one tree that had fallen down, cut down two dead trees, and cut down a bunch of dead branches. I was on a roll, but then I hit my head on a cement bird-house. It was painful, but I only got a bump and maybe I got a little light-headed, but that may have been because of the heat. I took a short break and put ice on my head, and then I did a little more work, but I got too tired pretty quickly. I was ready to eat lunch. So there’s still more to do tomorrow, and then I'll head back to Austin.
08/07/2002:
I’m going to my mom’s tonight. Tomorrow I’m going to cut down and cut up some trees with a chainsaw. I’m a little scared.
