08/28/2003:
Man, it’s been a crazy few days! Early Tuesday morning, Somer asked me to take her to the emergency room, ‘cause she had a severe headache and back-pain. It turned out that she had viral meningitis. We spent most of the day in the ER, and then later in the evening the staff moved her to a private room, and I slept in a chair next to her. I spent most of Wednesday with her, but I went home around 9 o’clock, so I could get some sleep, so I could work the first part of the day at school, and then head over to the hospital to be there when Somer was checked-out. Now I’m tired.

08/25/2003:
A kid threw up on me. Twice!

08/21/2003:
My first week with the students is going really well. I’m already starting to bond with some of them, and, for the most part, all the kids are really sweet, although the job is still really challenging. Plus, getting up at 5:50 AM sucks!

08/18/2003:
Tomorrow's the big day, 'cause the kids are coming!

08/14/2003:
I went to happy hour with some of my co-workers and had a lot of fun. I think things are going to work out.

08/12/2003:
My first day at work was sort of confusing, but, if I can figure it out, then it should be awesome.

08/11/2003:
I spent two hours at the downtown office filling out paperwork for my new job. It was boring, but also sort of exciting. My benefits kick in on September 1st!
For the rest of the evening I waded through mountains of papers that have accumulated during the past year. Most of it went into the recycling bin where it should have gone in the first place.
Tomorrow’s my first day at my new job. I’m nervous.

08/08/2003:
I got a job as a special education teacher assistant at a middle school here in Austin. I’m amazed that I got the job, since I know there were other people being interview for the position. Ever since I got turned down by the alternative teacher certification program last year, I don’t get my hopes up about stuff. Anyway, I start working on Tuesday, which is way earlier than I expected to start working, but I’m actually glad, since I’ll start getting paid earlier than I expected.

08/05/2003:
I went to my mom’s house in San Antonio Sunday night. I mostly talked to my brother and then went to bed. On Monday, my mom and I went up to her school and started setting up her classroom. We did that until 3:30 PM, and then I headed back to Austin. I spent the rest of the evening trying not to fall asleep.
Today I slept-in super late and then wasted most of the day playing around on friendster.com. I did manage to take notes while listening to Talby Quetalby, so tomorrow I should hopefully be able to make the definitive master.

08/02/2003:
I've got nothing to write at this time.
