07/31/2003:
I spent most of this past week working on the Talby Quetalby CDR. I finally finished it early this morning, and I’m listening to it right now. It sounds awesome, but I may need to re-master it, ‘cause I want it to be as perfect as it can be.

07/25/2003:
Renee came over this afternoon, and we played a little music. I was happy with how it went. I think we could end up making some cool stuff, if we work at it.

07/20/2003:
My mom, brother and I went to the San Antonio Museum of Art to check out the Dale Chihuly installation. I had seen some of the stuff a few years ago in the Metroplex, but there was some new stuff that was pretty cool. Also, there were a bunch of other exhibits; I think we spent three hours there at least. Near the end I couldn’t absorb anymore information, and I just walked around glancing at each piece for a few seconds.
Next we ate at a Mexican restaurant, and then my brother and I found (and bought) a bunch of books at a used-book store.
When we got back to my mom’s, I ate some of the awesome flan my mom made me, and then I headed back to Austin. I actually had a good time driving back. I found some cool radio stations playing some weird music.
Back at the homestead, Somer took a break from studying long enough to give me my birthday present (a stopwatch and a CD), and then I spent an hour bagging and boarding 100 comic books. I probably have three times as many to go.

07/19/2003:
I turned 27 years old today. My dad and Kathy came down from Arlington to hang-out, and they took Somer and me to Stubb's for lunch, which was nice.
Now, I'm at my mom's place in San Antonio. She baked me a cake and some flan. Tomorrow we're going to see some kind of glass exhibit at a museum.

07/15/2003:
I’ve often gone to the grocery store by myself when Somer and I were out of some essential item (just run in and out), but I’ve never gone along to do some serious grocery shopping where I was stocking up for two or three weeks. I’ve always gone with a parent or roommate or Somer, but today I decided to go it alone. Somer’s really busy with school and work, and, since I don’t have any responsibilities right now, I decided to do the shopping for the both of us. I had Somer make out a list of what she needed, and then I headed to the store and almost immediately realized how boring grocery shopping is when you don’t have someone else to talk to.

07/14/2003:
Somer, my mom and I spent the weekend at Jamie and Rock’s place in the Metroplex. My mom came along so she could play “grandma” to Savannah, and I think she enjoyed it. My mom bankrolled the whole trip, and we ate a few tasty meals at some Mexican restaurants, which is always nice. Shanie and Savannah were precious as always, and I got a bit of a workout carrying Shanie around the house, so she could pretend she was flying.

07/10/2003:
I marinated some rib-eye steaks, and then Somer cooked ‘em up while I made mashed potatoes. Somer also made some green beans. It was a very satisfying meal. Then we went out, and I got a milkshake, and Somer got a sundae.
When we got back I added some cute pictures to this website.

07/07/2003:
Somer and I spent the Fourth of July weekend at my mom’s place in San Antonio. On the Fourth we went to a botanical garden that was pretty neat. Later in the evening we watched fireworks, and then even later we watched The Pianist. I spent most of Saturday using a chainsaw to cut down some trees and cut up a bunch of stumps. Somer and I decided to head home to Austin after cleaning up. It was nice to sleep in our bed again. Somer spent most of Sunday studying, and I spent the day reading Galápagos and a bunch of comics I had just gotten. I also played around with the scanner Pete gave to me and came up with this cute picture:

Savannah smiles

Today I just hung out around the house and finished Galápagos and watched a really entertaining Indian movie, Awaara.

07/01/2003:
I started reading Kurt Vonnegut’s Galápagos the other day, and I’m enjoying it so far.
