07/24/2004:
I settled into my apartment, shaved my beard, took a trip to Boston to visit my sister, celebrated my 28 birthday, had a physical exam, watched a bunch of movies, went to a weird dance party wearing a skirt and a shirt made out of newspaper and tomorrow I’m going to met a baby and hang out with old friends.
07/06/2004:
Somer and I are all moved into our new apartment. Somer loves it. I like it. I think I will like it more once I’ve found a place for everything.
I don’t think I’ve been doing enough reflecting lately.
06/26/2004:
I finished my student teaching yesterday. It was stressful and a lot of work, but I made it through, and I think I’ll be a better teacher because of it.
Now I’m in the process of moving to my apartment. SBC screwed up by disconnecting my telephone at my old place three days earlier than scheduled AND they don’t give my new number on the forwarding message. I finally got a hold of someone at SBC this morning using Somer’s cellular telephone, but they won’t fix anything until Monday. Idiots!
Well, I have to get back to packing up my stuff.
06/17/2004:
I’m about to finish my first week of student teaching. I am working in an intensive reading program with eight middle school students. I’ve been observed teaching a few lessons by my mentor teacher and my field supporter, and tomorrow I’ll be taking over the class and teaching everything for the next week.
06/08/2004:
I got a Moog Concertmate MG-1 today. I spent most of the morning playing with it. Way back in high school, I borrowed one from Jay Sheedy (the drummer for Funkettle) and really liked it. It’s even better than I remembered. When it’s coupled with Xander’s recently acquired Moog Rouge, The Evildoers will be unstoppable.
Anyway, after I goofed around with the keyboard for awhile, I had to do my homework (which I finished just in time).
After class, I came home, played with the Moog some more, and then watched Marvin and Howard, which was directed by Jonathan Demme. I really enjoyed it, and I don’t understand why more movies aren’t made like this. It was sublimely subtle. I guess most people don’t like subtle movies.
06/03/2004:
I actually did most of my errands today. I’m starting to get on top of my shit! I also watch the movie, God Told Me To. I’ve been looking forward to seeing it for awhile, and, although it was a good movie, it wasn’t what I’d hoped it would be. I thought it would be an intelligent exploration of God and the problem of evil, but instead it was just a goofy sci-fi story. Oh well.
06/02/2004:
Well, my day did not live up to what I had hoped. I still got a lot done, but not as much as I should have. Oh well, I can do more tomorrow.
06/01/2004:
For some reason I’m really excited about tomorrow even though nothing special is scheduled to happen. I’m not tired, but I want to go to sleep, so it will hurry up and get here.
