MARCH 2001 JOURNAL

03/23/2001:
I’m groovin’ on some Prince Paul and pickin’ my nose.
The Hellers and Schillings practice when really well. Usually after two hours of working on arrangements, I’m ready to get the fuck out, but I didn’t want to stop, but the other guys had places to be and it was past my bedtime, so it was just as well.

03/22/2001:
I’m sitting here at work listening to Harry Nilsson’s Son of Schmilsson. Harry’s helping me make it through the day.
On Monday and Tuesday, I hung out with good ol’ Doug G. He showed off his new cell phone and laptop. We had a good time playing The Sims.
I stayed up late last night writing out the music to a Hellers and Schillings song, so we could work on it tonight. I hope I can stay awake.

03/09/2001:
The trip was kind of fun, kind of boring. The best part was the food. Tuesday lunch I had all-you-can-eat sushi, which was awesome, and that night I had Queso del Mar, which was a totally awesome cheese and shrimp casserole. The actual work I had to do was pretty boring, but the people were interesting characters. Their English was broken and they were easily excited. When the two were combined, it cracked me up. Another funny thing was that there was a "coiled tubing" roundtable discussion and exhibition going on at the hotel. We made lots of jokes about what coiled tubing guys are like—even though I have know idea what coiled tubing is, though I can imagine.
Last night I watched the new version of Bedazzled. It was a total piece of shit. I just want to give a big "Fuck You!" to Doug for convincing me watch it.

03/05/2001:
I guess I’m starting to dislike my job. Every day it becomes less and less interesting to me. I think it’s time to start looking for something else. Too bad I’ve become accustom to actually earning a decent wage. I’ll have to cut out some of the luxuries. It will be a good thing.
Tomorrow I’m going to Houston for two days. It’s the damn work thing! It will be nice to get out of the office, though, so I’m actually looking forward to that aspect of it, but I hate leaving the comforts of home.
Hey...wait...there’s good stuff, too. I watched Ikiru yesterday and it reminded me that it’s possible to make a difference in this world. I don’t want to waste my life.
