10/31/2004:
I was pretty lazy today. I woke up late, watched a bunch of TV, took a nap, ate lunch, made my lesson plans for the week, added a shelf to a bookcase, watched some movies, ate dinner, talked on the telephone, played on the Internet and moved a bunch of stuff around in my apartment. I should have done some laundry, gone to the grocery store, bought some pants, cleaned my apartment, made some worksheets and watched a Kurosawa movie. Well, Happy Halloween!
Oh yeah, last night I updated my bio page.

10/30/2004:
I had a crazy, busy week. I had three ECP classes and a project due. I went on three field trips (CiCi’s Pizza, the grocery store and bowling) with my students. I got a new teacher assistant, which is awesome because my co-teacher and I need the extra help, but I’m having trouble figuring out how to work with the guy (plus I’m still having trouble figuring out how to work with the other teacher assistants). Also on Thursday night, my band, The Evildoers, had their first club gig at The Flamingo Cantina and I’ve been told that we did a really good job and I know that I felt really good about it at the time.

10/23/2004:
I had a fun week. I took some of my students to CiCi's Pizza, and of course we made a big mess, but we also played a little air-hockey and some video games. We spent most of Friday decorating the classroom door for Spirit Week, which starts on Monday. We combined the anti-drugs theme with Halloween, so there are a bunch of monsters on my door saying things like, "My mummy says, 'Don't get wrapped up in drugs.'"
Friday night I had a late-night band practice at the Music Lab. Our first gig at a club is this Thursday, so we're trying to get ready for it. We're going to practice again tomorrow and that will probably be our last practice before the show.
I also watched most of the SCTV Network 90 Vol. 2 DVDs. They're great. Is anybody doing TV like this anymore?

10/18/2004:
Over the weekend I managed to finally do some things I’ve been meaning to do for a long time. I got my car’s headlight replaced and got it inspected. I bought some shirts and a belt at a thrift store. I bought some slacks at a department store. I bought an extra shelf for one of my bookcases, so I could fit more CDs on it. I went to see Shaun of the Dead with Xander and then we had a brief two-person band practice at my place. The next day Renee came over, and we also had a two-person band practice. I also watched What’s Eating Gilbert Grape, which I’ve been wanting to watch again for a long time and it did not disappoint. Oh yeah, while I was at the thrift store I picked up Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass’ !!Going Places!! and it’s hilarious. Hopefully, tomorrow I will get the first two discs of the second volume of SCTV Network 90 DVDs, which I’m sure will make me laugh.

10/14/2004:
I totally rearranged my classroom on Monday, since the students had the day off for Columbus Day. It seems to be working out well, so far. Things are easier to get to, but there are still a lot of kinks I need to work out. When I move something to fix a problem, then it creates a new problem that I didn’t even consider. Considering it was a short week, it has sure seemed long. Luckily, tomorrow I get to go bowling with some of my students. It’s always stressful being off campus with the students, but it’s also a lot of fun for them, so I end up enjoying it. Plus we’ll be riding a school bus instead of the city bus, so it should be pretty painless.

10/10/2004:
I had a fun weekend, and as always it went by too fast. Somer came into town on Friday while I was at work (taking different groups of kids to the grocery store to buy supplies for breakfast tacos and then to a fast food restaurant for a treat). After I got off work, I stopped by the house to see her and then took a short nap before going to a band meeting at Joe’s house. After that Somer and I picked up some food and came home and watched The Ladykillers (the Coen Brother’s version). I enjoyed but was also disappointed. The Big Lebowski set the bar pretty high, and I guess it’s hard for them to reach it all the time. Then on Saturday we just chilled out. Somer did a little studying and I did a little work and then we went out on the town with Christine. Today Somer left in the morning and I just messed around the apartment doing chores and then went to band practice. Then I updated our MySpace site and I think I crashed it when I tried to upload some songs.

10/06/2004:
My life is crazy right now. Work is crazy. My band is crazy. My apartment is crazy. My sleep schedule is crazy. I did manage to watch the new Tanner ’88 DVD. TV can be good sometimes.

10/02/2004:
Things are getting better at work. I’m starting to feel like I know what I’m doing (at least some times). I’ve written a few new songs recently (and it had been a long time). I’m feeling more creative in general. Now if I could just get some sleep.
